On behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Health, IQWiG reviewed and structured the evidence on this illness, assessed the benefits and harms of two treatment options, developed health information, and made recommendations for action.

ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome) is a chronic illness. The symptoms include exhaustion, pain, sleep problems and trouble concentrating. Even gentle activity can make the symptoms worse. The diagnosis involves detailed testing.
