The department is responsible for all internal and external communications. It therefore holds a key position in the presentation of IQWiG both internally and externally.
The work that the staff carry out is wide-ranging:
- Traditional PR work and the preparation of all types of information material
- Designing and maintaining the website and preparing the results of the Institute's scientific work in a format suitable for the Internet
- Planning and organizing events (e.g. press conferences, scientific symposia)
- Maintaining regular contacts with journalists, politicians, representatives of associations and other groups, and interested members of the general public
- Giving assistance in formal and technical aspects of report preparation
- Translating information and scientific papers into English
Internal communication with IQWiG staff serves to promote a continual exchange of information about current events and developments in health policy and in the Institute.
