Institute Management

The Institute Management represents the Institute in dealings with bodies and committees and also with contractors and the public. The Director of the Institute and his or her deputy are appointed by the Board of Directors following a proposal by the Foundation Council.

Responsibilities of Institute Management:

• The Institute Management is responsible for the implementation of all duties and responsibilities. This entails following the priorities set by the Federal Joint Committee, keeping within the budget approved by the Foundation Council and following the policies decided by the Board of Directors concerning organizational structure and use of resources.
• It reports regularly to the Board of Directors on the Institute's operations and results.
• It is responsible for the recruitment of scientific and non-scientific staff.

The Institute Management is supported by the staff of the Institute Management Section.
